HANDLEY – Trailing by a run in the top of the sixth inning, the Cherokee County Lady Warriors erupted for five runs to earn a 6-2 softball victory at Handley on Monday.
Abby Lea, Audrey Haygood, Lanie Williams and Emma Hill led the Lady Warriors at the plate. Each collected a pair of hits. Lea and Haygood both tripled. Lea also drove in a run and scored twice. Haygood drove in a run and scored a run. Williams added a pair of RBIs and Hill scored a run.
Macy Lea doubled, drove in two runs and scored another. Raechel Russell added a hit and a walk. Carson Coley contributed a hit. Auburn Mullins walked twice.
Cherokee County is scheduled to play at Fyffe on Tuesday beginning at 4:30 p.m.
