Gaylesville Woman Jailed on DUI Charges in Northwest Georgia

A Chattooga County, Georgia Sheriff’s Office Deputy recently pulled over a vehicle for speeding near Washington Street in Summerville.

The stop was around 1:00am, with the vehicle pulling into the parking lot of the Pay-N-Tote convenience store on Highway 114.  According to the report, the officer observed the driver, identified as Lauren Kellet of Gayelsville (Alabama) and soon determined that she could be under the influence – saying her speech was slurred and he also couldn’t understand what she was saying.   The deputy also detected a strong odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle.

Reports state that Kellett told the deputy that she had eaten at a Mexican Restaurant in Summerville about 10:00pm, and had consumed two beers; the deputy discovered several open containers of alcohol in the vehicle, including a bottle of vodka.  Kellet was arrested and charged with DUI and was booked in at the Chattooga County Jail.
