A single-vehicle crash at approximately 2:59 a.m. Tuesday, March 15, has claimed the life of a Toney man. Michael Daniel Sutherland, 33, a pedestrian, was fatally injured when he was struck while in the roadway by a 2012 Honda Civic driven by Marcus Dean Bland, 24, of Scottsboro.
Sutherland was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash occurred on U.S. 431 near mile marker 310, approximately 10 miles north of Guntersville, in Marshall County.
