Rita Rene Owens, age 60 of Leesburg Alabama, passed away at Floyd Medical Center in Rome Georgia on Friday March 11, 2022.

Survivors include her mother Patricia Williams (Ira Harrold);  her brothers:  Johnny W Owens (Kim) and Bryan Williams (Sarah); Several aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces and friends also survive.

She is preceded in death by her Father Johnny Claude Owens of Centre and her sister Sharon Rosser McClellan of Leesburg.

A native of Cherokee County, Rita was a 1979 graduate of Cherokee County High School and a member of the Marching Band. Rita worked for several years at the Weiss Lake Egg Company in Centre and the ChiVet/Pemco Manufacturing Plant in Leesburg.

The family would like to give special thanks to her cousin David Peppers, the Doctors and Nurses of Floyd Medical Center ICU unit and Cremation Services of East Alabama for their compassionate care.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Those wishing to honor Rita may make donations to the CCHS Marching Band or Shepherd’s Cemetery of Leesburg.
