SAND ROCK – The Sand Rock baseball team fought from behind to defeat Gaylesville 8-7 on Saturday in its season opener.
Austin Yoder went 3-for-3 at the plate with a double, a walk, two runs and a RBI. Caleb Yoder was 2-for-4 and drove in the winning run with a double in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Morgan Tucker went 2-for-3 with a run scored. Cam Gifford, Kane Robison and Zach Clanton each contributed a pair of hits and a RBI each.
Sand Rock travels to Gaylesville on Tuesday.
