SECTION – Logan McCutchen delivered 20 points and Jacob Cooper added 19 in leading third-ranked Section to a 71-33 Class 2A Boys Northeast Sub-Regional victory over Sand Rock on Tuesday night.

Dominik Blair and Alex Guinn both added nine points for the Lions. Gabe Hilley finished with seven points.

No Wildcat player reached double figures. They were led by Jacob StClair, Kaden Justice and Jacob Cornejo’s seven points apiece. Slade StClair finished with five points for Sand Rock, which ended its season at 17-15.

Section jumped out to a 15-2 first-quarter lead and held a 40-15 edge at halftime. The Lions led 61-29 after three quarters.

Section battles Cleveland on Friday at 7:30 p.m. in the Northeast Regional semifinals at Jacksonville State University’s Pete Mathews Coliseum.
