Centre Man Pleads Guilty to Lesser Charges in 2016 Case

A Centre man originally jailed on charges of Sexual Abuse of a Child back in 2016 settled his case after appearing before (now retired) Circuit Judge Randall Cole. He informed WEIS Radio News that Judge Cole accepted his plea of two counts of harassment as lesser offense.

Details of the case were not discussed due to the nature of the offense.

Since that time, Michael Tajh Bentley was ordered to serve 90 days for each count to run consecutively. He was also ordered to have no contact with the victim in the case and ordered to serve 2 years probation.

Bentley’s case has since been settled and closed according to court documents from the Cherokee County Circuit Clerks Office.
