School Board Officially Presents City of Centre with Deed to former Centre Middle School Property

Superintendent of Education Mike Welsh made a presentation to Mayor Mark Mansfield and the Centre City Council during Wednesday’s meeting of the Board of Education.

As previously reported, the City and the School Board have finalized a deal to officially deed the former Centre Middle School property to the City of Centre.

In other business, the board approved bids for lawn care at Centre Elementary and Sand Rock Schools with those bids being awarded to Picture Perfect Lawn Service.

Out of State Travel was approved for John Kincer and two Centre FFA students to attend the National FFA Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C. on July 12-16, 2022 (Alternate Date: July 19-23, 2022) – Funded by Student/Parents/Club.

Also approved was the purchase of a copier for Centre Elementary School from Ricoh and a John Deere mower was declared as surplus at Cherokee County High School.

An agreement with Sign Language Interpreting Services, LLC was approved.

Superintendent Welsh also provided an update on the latest COVID figures within the school system.
