City Of Centre Now Owns The Former Centre Middle School Property Including Estes Field And Gym

Mayor Mark Mansfield had some exciting news during Tuesday’s meeting of the Centre City Council –

Mayor Mansfield said that the deed includes the main building, gymnasium and Estes Field. At this time there are no immediate plans for the 6 plus acres of land, but the Rec. Department will begin renovations on the gym in the next few days.

In other business, the council approved the minutes from the previous meetings in addition to the accounts payable for the month.

Sealed bids were opened for a rotary mower for the Streets Department, the lowest bid was awarded to Foothills Tractor in the amount of $15,500.

Tommy Loder was reappointed to serve another three year term on the Alcohol Review Committee.

The city also approved the posting for two seasonal part-time employees for the Streets Department and Recreation Department for March – September.

An invoice was also approved from McKee and Associates for the new aquatic center project.

A quote for the removal of a side boom on a mower was approved in the amount of $2,750.

New operating guidelines were also approved for the fire department.
