CEDAR BLUFF – The Sand Rock Wildcat basketball teams have a sharpshooting brother-sister combo of Katelyn and Jacob StClair. On Thursday night at Cedar Bluff, both players helped their respective clubs sink the Tigers.
Katelyn StClair connected on five 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 27 points and five rebounds in leading the Lady Wildcats to an 82-39 victory. Jacob StClair sank four treys and finished with 20 points to go along with 11 assists to lead the Sand Rock boys to a 71-46 win.
In the girls game, Caley Garrett came away with 14 points and 11 steals for Sand Rock (25-4). Lanie Henderson added 10 points. Chloe Stephens added eight points. Haley Grace Lisenbee delivered seven points and Kennedy Henderson finished with five points and eight boards.
Kylie Vadon led Cedar Bluff with 13 points. Caley Bruce finished with 10 points.
Sand Rock held a 22-18 advantage at the end of the first quarter, then went on a 28-8 run in the second to take a 50-26 lead. The Lady Wildcats led 73-35 at the end of three quarters.
In the boys game, Kaden Justice added 18 points and seven rebounds for the Wildcats (15-13). Slade StClair sank a pair of first-quarter treys and finished with nine points and four boards. Bradley Jackson contributed six points and eight rebounds.
Connor Flynt tossed in four 3-pointers and finished with 23 points to lead Cedar Bluff. Bucky Leek added eight points and MJ Adams finished with seven points.
Sand Rock took control of the game early by going on a 14-2 run. The Wildcats held a 22-5 advantage at the end of the first quarter.
Cedar Bluff did manage to cut into Sand Rock’s lead, trailing 33-20 at halftime, but the Wildcats outscored the Tigers 38-26 in the second half for the final.
