Spring Garden, Piedmont boys move up in final ASWA basketball rankings

Staff Reports

Not much changed for area teams in the latest Alabama Sports Writers Association basketball rankings. The final rankings of the season were released early Thursday morning.

The only movement was from Class 2A Spring Garden’s boys (16-8) and Class 3A Piedmont’s boys (17-7). The Panthers moved up a spot to No. 7, while the Bulldogs crept into the top 10 at No. 10.

Everything else remained the same for Spring Garden’s girls (27-1), Sand Rock’s girls (24-4) and Collinsville’s girls (17-9). They come in at No. 2, No. 4 and No. 7 respectively in classes 2A and 3A.

Cherokee County’s girls (15-8) and boys (11-13), as well as Sand Rock’s boys (14-13) received consideration.
