From the Office of DeKalb County Sheriff Nick Welden:

A Fort Payne man has been charged with Rape, while a man from Valley Head, has been charged with Electronic Solicitation of a Child and Sexual Abuse.  The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Investigations Unit has been working actively, alongside the DeKalb County Children’s Advocacy Center and the DeKalb County Department of Human Resources to get these two cases solved as quickly as possible.   

On Wednesday, January 19th, information was brought forth alleging a sexual relationship between an adult male and an underage female.  After an investigation, Eduardo Jimenez Juan (21 of Fort Payne) was charged with Rape 2nd.

On Thursday, January 27th, information was brought forth reporting of an underage female that was being sexually abused and sexually harassed, via cell phone, by an adult male.  After an investigative interview, conducted by the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Investigations Unit, Dustin Lewayne Elkins (37 of Valley Head) was charged with Electronic Solicitation of a Child and Sexual Abuse 2nd.

DeKalb County Sheriff Nick Welden said of the incident: “Any and all kinds of abuse against our children will not be tolerated.  Our children deserve to be protected and loved and we are committed to doing just that, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.”
