Two individuals were jailed locally on controlled substance charges Monday.
John Barfield, age 57 of Mentone – was arrested and charged with three counts of the Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance and one count of Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was booked in around 6:00am, with bond having been set at $8,000.
Sasha Hopkins, 35 of Centre was charged with one count each of Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and the Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She was also charged with two counts of Failure to Appear and booked in just before 10:00am with bond being set at $3,000.
Both were arrested by members of the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office. Both remain in the Cherokee County Detention Center.
