House Fire on Ford’s Valley Road Monday Morning

The Ball Play Bend fire department along with several other agencies responded to a report of a house fire early Monday morning on Ford’s Valley Road.

Fire Chief Jeremy Tidmore told WEIS Radio News as they arrived at the location, they found the structure already approximately 30% involved in flames; firefighters went to work immediately, and through the combined efforts of the departments gathered managed to knock the blaze down with the home still standing.  Unfortunately, those residing at the location lost contents due to fire and water damage, but everyone was safe.

It’s not yet clear what led to the fire beginning and an investigation will be conducted in an attempt to learn the cause.

Ball Play Bend Chief Jeremy Tidmore wishes to sincerely thank all those responding agencies for their great teamwork – and that includes the Ball Play I Department, the firefighters with the Hokes Bluff, Knighten’s Crossroads and Glencoe departments, in addition to the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office and Etowah County 9-1-1 dispatchers.
