Fortunately no one was actually hurt in an accident, which according to Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports, involved one vehicle sideswiping another – then fleeing the scene. That incident took place at approximately at 3:20pm Tuesday on Alabama Highway 68 west at Sand Rock.
The vehicle remaining at the scene – a 2017 Ford – was driven by a female resident of Centre; the accident report contained no description of the other vehicle.
No additional information was available – that wreck remains under investigation.
A couple of hours earlier, at around 1:30 that afternoon, troopers responded to a two vehicle accident, close to mile marker 22 on Highway 68; the mishap involved a 2007 Dodge being driven by a male resident of Collinsville and a 2017 Toyota driven by a male from Dawsonville.
