A variety of law enforcement officials and emergency personnel have converged on a location just behind Summer Waters Apartments in Etowah County to investigate the discovery of a vehicle in the Coosa River.  Dive Teams went into the water just after 8:00am Tuesday and it appears the vehicle – seemingly a 1980’s model – has been in the water for a long period of time. 

The license tag had literally disintegrated over time and visibility was zero, so at this point there’s no way of knowing what’s inside the vehicle, which is approximately 18 feet underwater.  Experts are still trying to determine the best way to bring the vehicle up and out with some fear that it could fall apart when they try to remove it from the water.
