Changes to Several Alabama Tags Coming February 1st

Starting February 1st, Alabama will be getting three new license plate designs and an entirely new car tag – it has also retired three plates, which are no longer available.  Those three redesigned plates will be for the Alabama Poultry Foundation, the Sickle Cell Awareness organization and Troy University.

The redesigns haven’t been released yet – while the brand new design will be for the Alabama Audubon “Protect Our Birds” tag.   Most of the proceeds from the tag, $41.25 of the $50.00 cost – will go to Alabama Audubon to support bird conservation.

The three tags being retired include:  Rotary International, Civitan International, and Square/Round Dancing; according to the Alabama Department of Revenue as of 2021 there were 155 Rotary tags, 32 Civitan tags, and 192 Square and Round Dancing tags across the state.
