Collinsville girls advance in DeKalb County Basketball Tournament with 50-39 win over Geraldine

RAINSVILLE – In the DeKalb County Basketball Tournament on Tuesday, the Collinsville Lady Panthers advanced with a 50-39 win over Geraldine.

Kayla Beene led the Lady Panthers with 15 points, including a pair of 3-pointers. Tyla Tatum tallied 14 points. Rylee Tillery connected on four treys and finished with 12 points. Sophie Wills came away with seven points.

Shelby Trester topped Geraldine with 15 points, including three treys. Gracey Johnson added 12 points, including a pair of 3-pointers. Lili Ramirez finished with five points.

Collinsville led 16-12 at the end of the first quarter and 24-21 at halftime. The Lady Panthers extended their lead to 39-29 after three quarters.

In boys action, Fyffe earned a 74-52 victory over the Panthers.

Colton Wills and Alex Garcia both netted 14 points for Collinsville. Both had a pair of 3-pointers. Luke Henderson had 12 points. Dawson Cothran finished with six points.

Eli Butts led the Red Devils with 20 points. Jesse Matthews tossed in 17 points. Kyle Dukes delivered 10 points. Nathaniel Baugh posted nine points. Tyler Stephens had seven points. Matthew Rasberry added six points. Lucas Jones finished with five points.

Fyffe built a 28-12 advantage at the end of the first quarter and held a 44-30 edge at halftime. The Red Devils extended their lead to 66-41 at the end of the third quarter.
