COVID Cases On The Rise In Cherokee County

Shawn Rogers, EMA Director, reported we have 206 cases of COVID in the county during the past 10 days. This information was reported to the County Commission during their regular meeting today (Monday, January 10th, 2022).

Rogers said this is the highest level of infection for the County since the Pandemic began.

He told WEIS Radio News, several hospitals in the area are on patient diversion from time to time due to being overwhelmed with the number of patients showing up at their emergency departments.

Rogers said those who may have been exposed to COVID or have symptoms do not need to go to the Emergency Room for testing. He said they should go to their personal physician or an Urgent Care Facility for testing.
