Cherokee County Pastor Receives The State Of Kentucky’s Highest Honor

A Cherokee County Pastor has received one of the highest titles of honor bestowed by the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

On Sunday morning, Rev. Eddie Nation, Senior Pastor of the Centre 1st Baptist Church was recognized as a ‘Kentucky Colonel’. The commission of Kentucky Colonel is the highest title of honor bestowed by the Governor of Kentucky. It is recognition of an individual’s noteworthy accomplishments and outstanding service to the community, state, and nation.

Rev. Nation and his wife Anita are longtime natives of the State of Kentucky and have been serving Centre’s 1st Baptist Church 2013.

Larry Brinkman, also a Kentucky native, a Kentucky Colonel and a resident of Centre made the formal presentation –

Bro. Eddie had this to say of such an honor –

The Governor of Kentucky bestows the honorable title with a colonelcy commission, by issuance of letters patent under Common Law upon nomination by another Kentucky colonel, or by being recognized with the “Honorable” title directly by the Governor upon the recommendation of another.
