Collinsville girls outlast Glencoe in overtime

GLENCOE – Tyla Tatum and Sophie Wills were both 4-of-4 from the free-throw line in overtime, helping the Collinsville Lady Panthers earn a 48-40 overtime basketball win at Glencoe on Saturday.

Tatum, who was 8-for-10 from the charity stripe in the game, led Collinsville with 16 points. Wills finished with 14 points, including a pair of 3-pointers.

Kayla Beene added seven points, including a pair of treys, and Gracie Griggs had six points for the Lady Panthers.

Jaxson Sizemore led Glencoe with 17 points. Kinslee Gray finished with 13 points, including a pair of 3-pointers.

Glencoe held a 9-7 advantage at the end of the first quarter and a 19-17 edge at halftime. Collinsville forged ahead 31-27 after three quarters. The two teams were tied at 35 at the end of regulation.

In boys action, Glencoe earned a 59-45 victory.

Alex Garcia led the Panthers with a game-high 23 points. Luke Henderson had eight point and Eli Griggs finished with seven points.

Wade Segrest topped Glencoe with 15 points, including a pair of 3-pointers. Andrew Greene added 11 points. Kade Kueny and Garrett Morgan both rang for nine points. Nolan Fairley finished with eight points.

Collinsville held a 13-11 lead at the end of the first quarter, but Glencoe headed into the break with a 28-25 advantage. The Yellow Jackets were out in front 38-31 at the end of three quarters.
