Weather Delays for Monday, January 3rd

Due to the threat of hazardous driving conditions, all county offices and the courthouse will delay opening by two hours Monday, January 3rd.  Offices will open to the public at 10:00

The CED Mental Health Center, serving Cherokee, Etowah and DeKalb counties is on a  delay due to the weather conditions and will open at 10:00am.

Most Alabama school systems are still on winter break today (Monday morning), but a few districts did tell staff which would be reporting for professional development 0  to delay a few hours.

  • Athens City Schools told staff to report at 10:00am, and the ttudents return on Wednesday.
  • Albertville City Schools gave staff a two-hour delay Monday.
  • DeKalb County Schools has a two-hour delay Monday.
  • Fayette County delayed teacher in-service until 10:00am, and students return on Tuesday.
  • Limestone County told staff to report at 10:00am.  Students do not return until Wednesday.
  • Tuscaloosa County is delaying start until 10:00am; and students do not return until Wednesday.
