Winter Weather Advisory In Effect Sunday Evening Through Monday Morning

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING TO 3 AM CST MONDAY...

* WHAT...SNOW SHOWERS EXPECTED. TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF UP TO ONE HALF INCH.

* WHERE...PORTIONS OF NORTH CENTRAL ALABAMA.

* WHEN...FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING TO 3 AM CST MONDAY.

* IMPACTS...PLAN ON SLIPPERY ROAD CONDITIONS WITH THE HIGHER
  TOTALS.
Guidance continues to support a changeover to snow happening across our area between 6PM and 3AM tomorrow before all of the precipitation exits the state.

This changeover may be very brief for areas closer to I-20, but we could still see some snow showers or flurries over places like Birmingham and Tuscaloosa for a brief period. Further north we could see up to an inch of snow accumulation along the 278 corridor on grassy surfaces. While recent warmth will help road conditions, a burst of heavy snow could cause some slippery travel in these northern areas especially. A winter weather advisory has been issued for these northern counties.

As with all winter weather setups around here, this situation is very fluid, so forecast adjustments will likely be needed once we see where the heavier bursts of snow develop.
