Rome Police Continue Investigation into Armed Robbery Occurring Sunday

Rome Police are investigating an armed robbery occurring Sunday (December 26th), at the Three Point Convenience store on Martha Berry Boulevard.

Reports state that around midnight – two “white or light-skinned” males, walked into the store wearing masks, and pointed a handgun at the clerk’s face.  The female clerk said one of the men was wearing a blue shirt, white gator face mask with a skull and crossbones on it, black gloves and brown Timberland shoes while the second suspect was wearing a green sleeveless basketball jersey, along with a gator style mask and brown Timberland boots.  She added that he also had green eyes.  Both men were around 5’8” to 5’9”.

The clerk told officers after one of those suspects pointed a gun at her and told her to “give it up”; however when he turned around she ran to a bathroom locking the door behind her.  She added that the men never tried to enter the bathroom, but she heard them say “hurry up”.  The clerk waited until the men left before exiting the bathroom, she then called 9-1-1 for help.

The suspects were able to escape with $1,000 in cash and two Night Owl DVR boxes – valued at close to $350 each.

Reports stated that one of the boxes was in the Cashier’s room, and the other inside a back electrical room.  Officers said they saw no signs of forced entry to the electrical room, but did find cut wires where both DVR boxes were.
