One Person Airlifted Following Two Car Crash In Cedar Bluff

One person was seriously injured in a two-car crash in Cedar Bluff Sunday night.

The accident occurred on Highway 68 near County Road 44 just before 6:30 p.m.

The Cedar Bluff Police and Fire Department, Floyd EMS and Cherokee County Rescue Squad responded to the scene in addition to Cherokee County Sheriff’s deputies.

Rescue personnel had to extricate two individuals, one from each vehicle. One of those injured was rushed from the scene to a nearby landing zone at Cedar Bluff School and airlifted to UAB Hospital in Birmingham. The other injured party was taken by EMS ground units to the hospital.
