Billing “Glitch” in Waste Management System Leads to Incorrect Statements Being Sent to Customers Locally

According to a statement issued on Wednesday (December 22nd):  It seems there has been a technical glitch in the billing system for “Waste Management” – with many of their customers receiving bills indicating a bill increase (with an increased amount).

This is incorrect, according to Cherokee County Commission Chairman Tim Burgess.

Burgess advises customers NOT to pay the increased amount, and instead send in the normal amount that they’ve been paying; for those customers who have already paid the increased amount – he said that the additional amount would be credited back to their billing in the future.
