SATURDAY’S CHEROKEE COUNTY GIRLS BASKETBALL INVITATIONAL ROUNDUP: Collinsville, Etowah, Cherokee County and Sand Rock all pick up wins

SPRING GARDEN – Tyla Tatum scored a game-high 22 points in leading the Collinsville Lady Panthers to a 45-34 victory over Alexandria in the Cherokee County Basketball Invitational on Saturday.

Rylee Tillery sank four 3-pointers and finished with 12 points for the Lady Panthers. Sophie Wills came away with five points.

Ashley Phillips led the Lady Cubs with 19 points. Jordyn Walker connected on three treys and finished with 13 points.

Collinsville led 13-11 at the end of the first quarter and 19-16 at halftime. The Lady Panthers built a 33-24 edge after three quarters.

Collinsville plays Cedar Bluff on Monday at 9 a.m. Alexandria takes on Sand Rock on Monday at noon.

Etowah43, Gaylesville 21

SPRING GARDEN – Carlee Barksdale and Aubrey Thompson both netted nine points in leading the Etowah Lady Blue Devils to a 43-21 win over Gaylesville on Saturday.

Nia Jones added eight points for Etowah. Anna Jones finished with six points.

Shonda Epps led Gaylesville with seven points. Peyton Bright finished with five points.

Etowah led throughout the game. The Lady Blue Devils held a 13-6 advantage at the end of the first quarter and a 27-10 edge at halftime. Etowah took a 36-15 lead into the fourth quarter.

Etowah takes on Spring Garden on Monday at 6 p.m.

Cherokee County 64, Haralson County 37

SPRING GARDEN – Carson Coley led four Cherokee County Lady Warriors in double figures with 21 points, which included three 3-pointers, in a 64-37 victory over Haralson County on Saturday.

Audrey Haygood added 16 points, including a pair of treys for the Lady Warriors. Audrey Green and Ella Garmany both netted 11 points.

Chloe Hyatt led the Lady Rebels with 16 points, including four treys. Lauren Bridges added 11 points and Morgan Martin finished with six points on a pair of 3-pointers.

Haralson County led 17-16 at the end of the first quarter, but the Lady Warriors surged out in front 33-23 at halftime. Cherokee County built a 52-31 edge at the end of three quarters.

The Lady Warriors take on Handley on Monday at 3 p.m. Haralson County battles Sand Rock at 3 p.m. on Tuesday.

Sand Rock 58, Handley 45

SPRING GARDEN – Caley Garrett connected on a pair of 3-pointers and had 16 points in leading the Sand Rock Lady Wildcats past Handley 58-45 on Saturday.

Katelyn StClair sank three treys and had 13 points. Haley Grace Lisenbee posted 12 points. Lanie Henderson finished with seven points.

Takeriauna Mosley led Handley with 15 points. Emelia Askew added 14 points. Takeira Tucker finished with six points.

Sand Rock takes on Alexandria at noon on Monday. Handley matches up with Cherokee County at 3 p.m. Monday.
