CHEROKEE COUNTY GIRLS BASKETBALL INVITATIONAL: Spring Garden earns 64-32 victory over Haralson County

SPRING GARDEN – Neely Welsh netted 25 points in leading the Spring Garden Lady Panthers to a 64-32 victory over Haralson County.

Kayley Kirk connected on three 3-pointers and had 15 points for the Lady Panthers. Ace Austin added 11 points and Sarah Kate McKay finished with eight points.

Chloe Hyatt, Rylie Harrell and Morgan Martin each had nine points for Haralson County. All nine of Hyatt and Martin’s points came on 3-pointers.

Spring Garden led 17-7 after one quarter of play. The Lady Panthers extended their lead to 36-15 at halftime and 57-21 after three quarters.

Haralson County takes on Cherokee County on Saturday at 3 p.m. Spring Garden battles Etowah on Monday at 6 p.m.

Cherokee County 65, Gaylesville 8

SPRING GARDEN – Cherokee County went on a 32-0 first-half run to cruise to a 65-8 win over Gaylesville.

Libby Curry led the Lady Warriors with 14 points. Mary Hayes Johnson added10 points, all in the first quarter. Marie Crane also had10 points, including a pair of treys. Nevaeh Gaidurgis came away with eight points. Ellisan Givens rang for six points. Audrey Haygood finished with five points.

Peyton Bright and Shonda Epps had three points apiece for Gaylesville.

Gaylesville takes on Etowah at noon Saturday. Cherokee County battles Haralson County, Ga., at 3 p.m.
