Shortly after 8:30 on Friday morning – Cherokee County School Superintendent Mike Welsh contacted WEIS Radio News regarding a letter sent to all schools in the system. That letter discussed a recent post being shared on the social media platform TikTok discussing possible violence at schools potentially occurring today (Friday December 17th, 2021). Superintendent Welsh says they have been in contact with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office and local police departments and have also issued suggestions about on-line safety procedures.
