Ernest Dewayne Martin, 57 of Rome, was arrested this week following a motorcycle chase down Georgia 20, Woods Road, Huffaker Road, Technology Park, finally ending on Mathis Drive.  Officers initiated their blue lights after dispatch informed them of active warrants on Martin, and it was at that point, he sped away.

After finally being pulled over, Martin was reportedly found with a bag of suspected marijuana and methamphetamine; officers added that he also attempted to discard a second bag that contained suspected methamphetamine.  After being transported to jail officers stated they found a container in the patrol car, and upon searching they found that it contained methamphetamine.

Martin is charged with two counts of the possession of meth, possession/distribution of marijuana, crossing the guard line with drugs, attempting to elude police, and with a probation violation.
