Congressman Mike Rogers Announces Congregational App Challenge Winner

U.S. Representative Mike Rogers (R-AL) released a statement announcing Atticus Cornett of Springville, AL, as the winner of the 2021 Congressional App Challenge for Alabama’s Third District. Atticus designed an app called Strive, which helps people keep track of their personal goals and build a healthy, productive lifestyle.

“It is my privilege to announce Atticus Cornett as the winner of the 2021 Congressional App Challenge from my district. Atticus’ ingenuity is far beyond his years and I am proud that Alabama is home to so many talented young coders and developers. STEM is incredibly important for our future and I am glad to see these skills being fostered in my home district.”

This app will be featured on CongressionalAppChallenge.us and will also be eligible to have photos of its interface displayed in the U.S. Capitol.

The Congressional App Challenge was created by the U.S. House of Representatives in 2015 and allows students to compete against their peers across the country by creating an app for desktop/PC, web, tablet, mobile, raspberry Pi or other devices. The challenge is designed to promote innovation and engagement in computer science.
