Cedar Bluff’s Burleson, Beckett lead Class 1A, Region 7 football selections

The Class 1A, Region 7 football coaches recently selected their All-Region team. Cedar Bluff’s Jacob Burleson leads the selections as the overall Most Valuable Player. First-year Tiger coach Alan Beckett was named the Coach of the Year.

Valley Head’s Eian Bain was named the Offensive MVP, while Sumiton Christian’s Tyler Ingle was chosen as the Defensive MVP.

Joining Burleson and Beckett from Cedar Bluff (6-5) is Dylan Kinard, Hagan Stallings, Bucky Leek, Kade Browning, Preston Burt, Nick Clifton and Austin Richardson. Honorable mention players are Dawson Wheeler and Eli McFry.

The Gaylesville Trojans (6-5) had four selections in Michael Reynolds, Briley Mitchell, Keylon Higgins and Jacob Gordon. Honorable mention players are Hunter Penney, Kyler Bradley, Xander Watts, Seth Lee and Hunter Allmond.

Joining Ingle from Sumiton Christian (7-4) is Jack Gable, Jake McDonald, Eli Moon, Jordan Robertson and Wilson Washington. Honorable mention players are Solomon Wood, Jacob Thompson, Kame Defoor, Jonah Hadder, Noah Godwin, Ashton McClendon, Jamason Nolen, Ashton Whiten, Ayden Whiten, Sam Nix, Jack Aderholdt and Kannen Defoor.

Joining Bain from Valley Head (5-6) is Noah Hulgan, Pacey Cooper, Ethan Webb, Brandon Vazquez, Roger McMahan and Ashton Brown. Honorable mention players are Carson Frost, Hernan Moreno, Jaxon Nance, Mason Vest and Raudel Segura.

Chosen from Coosa Christian (4-6) is Clete O’Bryant, Ty Sims and DJ Smith. Honorable mention players are Matthew Wright, Jirell McClure, Thomas Skaggs and Eli Motes.

Appalachian (1-8) had three selections in Brodie Alexander, Garrett Helms and Andrew Cooper. Honorable mention players are Chase Payne and Sean Curtis.

Woodville (0-10) also had three selections in Sam Peek, Nathan Gardner and Justice Archer. Honorable mention players are Dane Wilks and Shane Hughes.

Assistant Coaches of the Year are Coosa Christian’s Teddy Whitmire and Sumiton Christian’s Steve Smith.
