COLLINSVILLE – The Collinsville basketball teams split a Class 3A, Area 12 basketball doubleheader with visiting Glencoe on Saturday.
Behind Tyla Tatum’s seven 3-pointers, the Lady Panthers posted a 57-33 victory. The Panther boys dropped a 69-36 decision in the nightcap.
In the girls game, Tatum tallied a game-high 31 points. Kayla Beene delivered 17 points and Rylee Tillery finished with five points.
Jaxson Sizemore led Glencoe with 16 points. Kinslee Gray finished with five points.
Collinsville built a 21-6 first-quarter lead and led 32-14 at halftime.
In the boys game, Alex Garcia topped Collinsville with 15 points, including a pair of 3-pointers. Dawson Cothran contributed 11 points and Colton Wills finished with five points.
Wade Segrest led four Yellow Jackets in double figures with 16 points. Andrew Greene added 13 points. Cooper Horton had 11 points, and Aiden Cornutt collected 10 points.
Garrett Morgan finished with nine points.
Glencoe led 13-7 at the end of the first quarter and built a 37-22 advantage by halftime.
