Youth Leadership Cherokee Class Meets with Sheriff, Chief Deputy and EMA and 9-1-1 Officials

The members of Youth Leadership Cherokee/2021 – paid a visit Tuesday morning to the offices of the Cherokee County Emergency Management Agency, where they met both EMA officials and members of the 9-1-1 administrative staff. Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff and Chief Deputy Josh Summerford also spoke to the class.  Juniors from each of the five high schools located in Cherokee County are selected to take part.

The program is designed to prepare and build leadership resources across the entire county.

The select group is comprised of young and emerging leaders around the area.  They will experience an intense view of civic, and governmental leadership, through direct contact with a wide spectrum of institutions that help keep Cherokee County solvent, and moving forward.

Youth Leadership Cherokee is one of the many programs sponsored by the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce, The Director is Joy Perry.
