This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the counties served by the National Weather Service office in Birmingham.

A storm system will bring showers and thunderstorms to Central Alabama today.

  There will be a risk of damaging winds and a brief tornado through around 1:00pm – the risk area includes locations both south and east of a line from Pickens to Blount counties, and north and west of a line from Cleburne to Chilton to Dallas counties.

The storms should weaken as the afternoon progresses.
