Hays Prison Inmate to Appear in Court on Murder Charge

Hays As you may recall earlier this year (2021) investigators with the Georgia Department of Corrections charged an inmate at Hays State Prison in Chattooga County – with the murder of a fellow inmate in 2020.

Timothy “Green Light” Teasley, 27, was charged with aggravated assault, and a felony murder count in connection with that case. Teasley has been incarcerated since 2012 following his convictions on aggravated assault and robbery charges in September of that year.  He was brought to Hays from Jackson State Prison in Butts County. 

Department of Corrections investigators say that Teasley was involved in a fight with Anthony Lamar McGhee on March 19th of 2020, and he used a “sharp metal” object to stab McGhee in the face and body, causing McGhee’s death.

Teasley would have been up for possible parole in 2022 on the earlier charges,
