Piedmont Police continue to investigate a shooting incident taking place late Monday afternoon.
According to Piedmont Police Chief Nathan Johnson, at approximately 5:50pm, police received a call, in reference to someone hearing a woman screaming at the City Heart Inn & Suites, in the 300 block of Haslem Street; that, being followed by two gunshots.
Officers quickly arrived at the location and they detained a female at the scene.
They soon determined the skirmish was the result of a domestic dispute between the woman and her boyfriend – who had fled prior to the arrival of law enforcement.
Chief Johnson stressed that there is no danger to the public and the incident revolves around these two individuals.
The investigation into the matter is on-going.
