County Commission Makes Annual Donation to Cheaha Regional Library and Tours Mobile Library

Following the Monday afternoon meeting of the Cherokee County Commission, WEIS Radio spoke with Sherry Poe, the Director of the Cheaha Regional Library, regarding the areas they serve, and they support they receive:

The Cherokee County Commission has enjoyed a long-standing relationship with the library – and they annually donate $500 toward helping them with various programs and activities.

The Cheaha Regional Library is a Multi-County Library System, established to expand and enhance local library services.

Being part of the Region ensures FREE access to services to all residents living in the area of the system.  The Cheaha Regional Library started on May 1st, 1976,  out of the Public Library of Anniston.

About Us
The Cheaha Regional Library is a Multi-County Library System established to expand and enhance local library services. Cheaha Regional consists of seven small town libraries covering five counties. Being part of the Region ensures free access to services to all residents living in the area of the system.

History
The Cheaha Regional Library began on May 1st, 1976 out of the Public Library of Anniston, and we moved to our current location in 1989. The system covers five counties: Cleburne, Cherokee, Talladega, Clay and Randolph.
