Cherokee County boys hold off Sylvania in Geraldine Thanksgiving Basketball Classic

GERALDINE – The Cherokee County Warriors outlasted Sylvania in the Geraldine Thanksgiving Basketball Classic on Tuesday morning by the final of 76-73.

Jackson Neyman led the Warriors (2-0) with 20 points, including a pair of 3-pointers. Jack Amos also added a pair of treys and had 17 points. Jaden Wilson tossed in 12 points and Malachi Horton contributed 11 points. Damien Ramsey finished with nine points.

Joshua Scott sank six treys and finished with a game-high 28 points to lead the Rams. Brody Smith added 17 points and Sawyer Hughes finished with 16 points.

After being tied at 12 at the end of the first quarter, Cherokee County went on a 32-17 run in the second to take a 44-29 lead at halftime. The Rams cut the Warrior lead to five at 56-51 by the end of the third quarter, but the Warriors held on in the fourth for the final.
