UPDATED

A Florida resident was killed, and at least one other person was reportedly injured in a Cherokee County auto accident occurring Sunday afternoon.

According to information from Senior Trooper Reginald King with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency – 24 year old Jeffrey William Langford of Panana City, was killed when the 1998 Dodge Ram that he was driving left the Roadway on Highway 411 and crashed into a utility pole, before rolling over.  

The wreck, taking place at 1:48pm approximately four miles south of Centre, affected several poles, and as a result pulled down a number of live wires.

Spring Creek Fire Rescue units, Cherokee County Rescue Squad. Floyd EMS and Alabama State Troopers all responded to the scene. in addition to personnel from the Cherokee County Coroner’s Office.
