Now, here’s a prime example of poor judgment – and a primer in how NOT to conduct one’s self – sent to us by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
Just after 10:00am Wednesday, Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency attempted to stop a grey Nissan Altima for reckless driving – DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THE BIRMINGHAM TROOPER POST – the driver failed to pulled over and continued at a rate of speed through that area, until he abruptly decided to ditch the vehicle – bail out and flee on foot.
That didn’t work out so well for the suspect, when he attempted to jump a ditch – and broke his ankle. At that point he was taken into custody, and arrested on the charges of Attempting to Elude, Reckless Endangerment, Possession of Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Reckless Driving, in addition to Driving while Revoked.
A firearm was later recovered by ALEA Troopers in the area and ammunition for that firearm was located in the driver’s vehicle.
Nothing further is available as Troopers continue to investigate.
