A third grade teacher at Carlisle Elementary in Boaz – has reportedly been “placed on leave” – after being accused of producing child pornography.

According to jail records, 39 year old Amy Bedwell Sudberry, is lodged in the Etowah County Jail after being booked in Monday on five felony charges – four of those being related to child pornography.  Sudberry was charged with: dissemination/display of child pornography, production of pornography with minors, possessing obscene matter with a child under the age of 17, chemical endangerment of a minor and producing pornography with a minor

Three of the charges are from the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office – the other two from the Rainbow City Police Department.

Etowah County Schools Superintendent Alan Cosby says that Sudberry was placed on leave pending the outcome of the charges, adding that the district is cooperating with authorities.

Sudberry’s husband, Joshua Wayne Sudberry, age 33, is currently facing two felonies out of Rainbow City: for chemical endangerment of a child and the possession of drug paraphernalia.
