Plainview shuts down Collinsville, 41-7

RAINSVILLE – Things started out well enough for the Collinsville Panthers at Plainview in Class 3A, Region 7 football action on Friday night. They forced fumbles on the Bears’ first two possessions, but they were unable to take advantage.

Plainview then found its rhythm by scoring touchdowns on six of its next seven possessions in a 41-7 victory.

Dylan MacCullough led the Bears (5-2, 2-2) with 113 yards, two touchdowns and a 2-point conversion on nine carries. He set up a third touchdown just before halftime with a 55-yard punt return, as Plainview built a 34-0 lead at the break.

Quarterback Noah White rushed for 120 yards and a touchdown on just three carries. He also passed for a touchdown and had an interception on defense.

Collinsville (2-5, 1-3) was led by quarterback Keaton DeBoard. He scored the Panthers’ only touchdown on a 75-yard run midway through the fourth quarter.

DeBoard finished with 110 yards on 18 carries and added 14 yards through the air. He also posted 64 yards in kickoff returns.

Charles Smith and Braxton Wright both recovered a fumble for the second game in a row for the Panthers.

Collinsville travels to Asbury next Friday. Plainview hosts Sylvania.
