“Flash Flood Watch” in Effect from 1:00am Tuesday through 1:00am Thursday for Cherokee County and Surrounding Areas

The National Weather Service has issued a “Flash Flood Watch” for Cherokee County, and ALL of north Alabama from 1:00am Tuesday through 1:00am Thursday; showers and thunderstorms could produce heavy rainfall at times, which in turn could lead to flash flooding in certain areas. 

Forecasters say northeast Alabama is likely to see the most rainfall – with two to four inches being expected.

Motorists should exercise caution, watch for ponding on roadways and slow down on backroads as well taking care to watch for downed trees, and/or limbs.  Give yourself extra time to get where you’re going safely.
