Edsel “Butch” Mitchell, age 75 of Centre, passed away Thursday, September 30th at his residence.
Graveside services will be 2 PM Sunday, October 3rd at Cherokee Memory Gardens with Bro. Keith Day officiating. Family will receive friends from 12 PM until 2 PM Sunday at Perry Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Josh Brown, Jacob Morgan, Greg Motes, Dustin Christopher, Ryan Burk, and Gary Farist.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Harkins Mitchell; daughters, Cindy Motes (Greg), Geni Morgan (Jacob); grandchildren, Cassidy, Candice, Savannah, Erin, Dustin, Taylor, Ansley, Liam, Madilynn; great-grandchildren, Bentley, Kennedy, Selah, Mia, Aiden, Georgia Kate, Oaklyn.
He was preceded in death by his great-granddaughter, Ada Burk.
Mr. Mitchell was a native of Mosspoint, MS, but has been a resident of Cherokee County for the past 30 years, he was the son of the late Edsel Lee Mitchell Sr. and Gladys Hayes.
