Things remained unchanged for Class 3A Piedmont and Class 2A Spring Garden in the latest Alabama Sports Writers Association high school football rankings. The latest poll was released early Wednesday morning.
Piedmont (5-0) holds steady at No. 2 in the Class 3A rankings. The Bulldogs are coming off a 55-45 shootout victory over Class 4A Jacksonville. Piedmont travels to Ohatchee (2-3) on Friday.
In Class 2A, Spring Garden (4-1) remains at No. 7 following its 21-0 shutout victory over Hokes Bluff. The Panthers host Gaston (0-6) for homecoming on Friday.
Two other area teams continue to receive votes for the poll: Class 2A Sand Rock (4-1) and Class 4A Cherokee County (4-1).
Sand Rock, coming off a 28-7 victory at Class 3A Collinsville, travels to Locust Fork (1-4) on Friday. Cherokee County, which blasted Coosa, Ga. 53-0 for its homecoming, hosts Munford (2-4) on Friday.
