Leesburg Police Chief Jamie Chatman tells WEIS Radio News that his department swore in its newest officer during a special called meeting on Monday night.
Officer Chase Garrett is a 2015 graduate of Sand Rock High School and was previously employed by the Scottsboro Police Department.
Cherokee County Probate Judge Tim Burgess administered the oath of office.
