Cheryl Silk Melton, age 64 of Centre, passed away Friday, September 17th at Redmond Medical Center.
Graveside services will be 3 PM Tuesday, September 21st at Cherokee Memory Gardens with Bro. Eddie Nation officiating. Family will receive friends from 1 until 2:45 PM Tuesday at Perry Funeral Home.
Survivors include her husband, Randy Melton; parents, Ralph E. Silk and Sylvia Westman Silk, son, Wesley A. Brown; step-daughter, Ashley L. Melton; brother, George Silk; sisters, Robin Newell, Linda Schacht, Amy Mercuio, Gaye Chesser, Tara Spencer; and grandson, Maddox Brown.
Pallbearers will include Mike Anders, Jeff Oliver, Ron Silk, Ron Tillery, Steve Westman, and Joe Novak
Ms. Melton was a native of Coco Beach, FL; she was a nurse for over 20 years at the University Medical Center Tuscaloosa and was a member of Centre First Baptist Church.
Family will accept flowers or donations can be made to Cherokee County Jail Ministry.
Due to the current health concerns for the community, the family request that those in attendance keep in mind the current guidelines and restrictions set forth by the CDC as it pertains to social gatherings including the use of face masks and hand sanitizer.
