A Jacksonville woman hurt in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 431 on Friday morning later died.

Maggie Beard, age 73, was the passenger in a 2000 Ford F-150 being driven by Albert Bowens Jr. – age 54 of Jacksonville – when the vehicle hit a 2015 GMC Sierra driven by 84 year Charles Boone of Anniston at approximately 9:30am.

According to the statement from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the accident happened near the 238 mile marker, about five miles north of Anniston.

Beard was transported to a nearby hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries on Sunday.  Troopers are continuing to investigate that crash and have not provided any additional details.
