Dump Truck Crashes on South Broad Street in Rome, Rolling Over and Taking Out a Utility Pole

The driver of a dump truck narrowly escaped serious injury – in a wreck occurring in Floyd County, Georgia.

South Broad Street between McGhee and Butler Streets had to be shut down for quite a while Wednesday morning following a one-vehicle accident at around 9:00am.  The dump truck, which was carrying metal – overturned – ending up on its side.  That crash also brought down a utility pole.

Floyd EMS evaluated the driver at the scene and for the most part he was only shaken up.
